Who We Are
Mission: To engage in people’s lives by offering education, advocacy, and guidance to children, youth and their families, while providing and promoting a safe, stable environment.
The Livingston Family Center is a 501 (c) (3) independent, non-profit, community based counseling agency offering a variety of counseling, treatment services, supervised visitation, and prevention programs for children, adolescents, adults and families.
What We Do
Programs of the Livingston Family Center include:
- The Family Connection Center: Provides supervised parenting time between children and their non-custodial parents in a safe, neutral environment with trained observers. This program allows children to maintain or re-establish relationships with their non-custodial parent.
- The Connection Youth Services (TCYS): The Connection Youth Services works to increase young people’s access to safe and stable housing, connections to school and employment, enhance social and emotional well-being, increase self-sufficiency, and help to build permanent connections with families, communities, schools, and other positive social networks.
There are several volunteer opportunities available at TCYS:
- Youth Support Services- Your responsibilities would include being involved directly with the youth in our program while assisting with various activities on our grounds.
- Drop in Assistant-Assisting staff with additional coverage at our drop in center. This would include task like prepping food, interacting with youth, playing games, filling out initial contact paperwork, and cleaning.
- Food Donation Organizer-Assisting with creating a monthly food menu and sign up calendar for meal donations.
- Transportation Helper-Providing transportation to youth that have scheduled doctor appointments, work, or grocery shopping.
- Life Skills Presenter-Sign up to teach an hour long life skills class on a topic you have knowledge of. (classes are Wednesdays from 5pm-6pm).
- Teen Council Volunteers-Join The TCYS Youth Council! Help plan monthly free teen events, build your leadership skills, and give back to the community. (Mondays from 3:30PM-4:30PM).
- Maintenance Committee- Your responsibilities would include assisting in basic upkeep and organization of our space. -Large and small projects available
- Event Planning and Assistance- Your responsibilities would include assisting our outreach team in prepping and conducting events and activities for youth.
- Flyer Hangers- Help to hang outreach flyers around Livingston County.
- Fundraiser Committee Member-Join our Annual Fundraiser Committee. (Meetings Aug-Nov)
