Who We Are
Mission: To create positive, substantial, and lasting change in the communities we serve by addressing systemic social issues, advocating for marginalized groups, and promoting lifelong learning opportunities.
Camp Fire Southeast Michigan (Camp Fire SEM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth through inclusive, nature-based programs that foster personal growth, leadership, and community involvement. With a rich history dating back to 1910, Camp Fire has been a pioneer in youth development, emphasizing diversity and inclusivity.
What We Do
Camp Fire SEM offers a variety of programs designed to help young people discover their potential and thrive:
- Out-of-School-Time Programs: Providing safe, engaging environments where children can explore interests, develop skills, and build relationships.
- Teen Service & Leadership: Offering opportunities for teens to engage in community service, develop leadership abilities, and make a positive impact.
- Camp & Outdoor Experiences: Encouraging connection with nature through summer camps, environmental education, and outdoor adventures that promote teamwork and self-discovery.
At the heart of our offerings is Camp Wathana, located in Holly, Michigan. This historic camp provides a serene setting for summer resident camps, retreats, and various outdoor activities, allowing youth to immerse themselves in nature and build lasting memories.
