Who We Are

Mission: To provide intellectually and physically challenged individuals with opportunities for growth, social interaction, and life skills education.

Special Ministries is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that serves children and adults with any type of developmental and/or physical disabilities through programming that promotes growth in social-emotional development, continual learning, recreation, and spiritual development.

The agency was founded by Linda Anderson, of St. George Lutheran Church in 1972. It became a Livingston County United Way partner agency in 1981. What started with a small group of families looking for community connection has grown into a participant base of over 200 individuals and their support systems.
