Department Of Health And Human Services

Mission: To improve the health, safety and prosperity of state residents.
The Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is Michigan’s public assistance, child and family welfare agency. MDHHS directs the operations of public assistance and service programs through a network of over 100 county department of human service offices around the state.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services assists children, families and vulnerable adults to be safe, stable and self-supporting. MDHHS works hand-in-hand with hundreds of partners at the local and regional levels to provide these needed services. Together, we will reduce poverty, help all children have a great start in life, and help our clients achieve their full potential.
