Who We Are

The Livingston County Community Alliance (LCCA) is a county-wide coalition that seeks to unite the Livingston County community to reduce and prevent youth substance use and to live a healthy and drug free lifestyle.

What We Do

The LCCA is a non-profit, grassroots coalition that raises awareness to address youth substance use. The coalition currently targets underage drinking, youth marijuana use, prescription drugs, and heroin use. Within that, the LCCA administers and oversees the Big Red Barrel project. The Big Red Barrels are prescription drug collection units where people can securely and anonymously dispose of their unused or unwanted medication, including heavy painkillers such as Oxycontin and Vicodin. Other opportunities for involvement include:

  • Prevention in Action-Underage Drinking/Youth Marijuana Use/Prescription Drug Use
  • The Big Red Barrel
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Fund Development
  • Mini-Grant Administration
  • Data and Evaluation
