Who We Are

Mission: To make a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia

The Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Great Lakes Chapter is dedicated to supporting the more than 190,000 people in Michigan living with Alzheimer’s disease and the over 517,000 family members and friends providing their care. Serving 23 counties through regional offices in Ann Arbor, Lansing, Kalamazoo, and Muskegon, we provide vital education, resources, and support to individuals living with Alzheimer’s, caregivers, families, and healthcare professionals. We advocate for the rights and needs of those affected by Alzheimer’s and work to advance research to find treatments, preventive methods, and a cure.

What We Do

We provide comprehensive support to Michigan families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Our services include support groups led by trained volunteers, offered regularly to help caregivers and families navigate their journey. Through in-person and online education programs, we share critical information on diagnosis, warning signs, communication, caregiving, and living with the disease. As a leading voice for Alzheimer’s advocacy, we champion the rights and needs of those affected at the state and federal levels. Globally, we accelerate Alzheimer’s research as the largest nonprofit funder, driving progress toward effective treatments, prevention strategies, and a cure.
